It was founded in 1931 by Zafrakopoulos Ioannis and then transferred to his sons, Dimitris & Konstantinos Zafrakopoulos. Today, Zafrakopoulos Ioannis, son of Dimitris Zafrakopoulos, is the director and the company now is under the name IOANNIS D. ZAFRAKOPOULOS & CO.
Oil pressing - Production of olive oil
In private premises of 1.200 sq. meters, the company has the ability of processing 28.000 kg / hour during olive press. During standardization process, the ability reduces at 2.000 kg / 8 hour.
The oil mill has the ability to produce olive oil at a temperature of 29 oC (Hot Pressure) or through cold press at temperatures below 25oC. The oil mill is certified by TUV HELLAS for organic cultivation. It also applies HACCP system according to ELOT EN ISO 22000: 2005, supervised by the accredited food laboratories ASPIDA.
The mechanical equipment of the olive mill is owned by the German firm HILLER, represented in Greece by CEMR SA.
Standardization of olive oil
The olive oil is stored in inox tanks and then classified according to its acidity and quality after laboratory analysis. The standardization department has the ability to standardize olive oil for third-party. It now standardizes Extra Virgin Olive Oil in 50 ml disposable packaging, according to the legislation promoted by the Ministry of Development and Food for use in restaurants.
The company has the ability to standardize oil in multiple packaging, from 50 mL to 5L in PET, INOX & GLASS. We now are in the early stages of producing extra virgin olive oil in various flavors (lemon, orange, aromatic herbs, sun-dried tomato etc.)
Trade - Distribution of olive oil
The company has a retail & wholesale department and carries out daily deliveries of olive oil to the city by privately-owned vehicles. It also has the option of distributing it all over Greece upon request.
